Wagener’s Ham in Jelly (Jelly Pork) recalled in Canada due to Listeria monocytogenes

The CFIA reported that Wagener’s Meat Products recalled Wagener’s brand Ham in Jelly (Jelly Pork) from the marketplace because of possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination. The recalled products were sold by various retailers, clerk-served, sliced, chunked, or in smaller packages, with or without a label that may not bear the same brand, product name, or best before date of Dec. 28, 2024. The CFIA triggered the recall during its investigation into a foodborne illness outbreak. The USDA/FSIS issued an expansion to the BrucePac RTE meat due to Listeria monocytogenes

On October 15, 2024, the USDA/FSIS expanded the October 9, 2024 recall to include additional products and production dates. Details of this release were updated to note the addition of 1,779,040 pounds of product subject to recall, increasing the weight from 9,986,245 to 11,765,285 pounds. The massive meat recall has impacted hundreds of ready-to-eat meals sold at major grocery store chains across the U.S., including Walmart, Trader Joe’s, and Target. This recall release has also been updated to show that recalled products were distributed to schools.  Some products feature popular brands like Dole, Taylor Farms, Great Value, and Michelina’s. Albertsons recalls 12 ready meals and store-made deli items containing recalled chicken due to Listeria monocytogenes contamination

Albertsons Companies has voluntarily recalled 12 types of Ready Meals and store-made deli items supplied by Fresh Creative Foods due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination. The recall was initiated because these products contain a recalled ready-to-eat chicken ingredient supplied by BrucePac, which was found to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogene during routine tests by the USDA/FSIS. BrucePac recalled approximately 9,986,245 pounds of ready-to-eat (RTE) meat and poultry products that may be adulterated with Listeria monocytogenes. The ReadyMeals and store-made deli items were available for purchase at the following stores: Albertsons, Carrs-Safeway, Eagle, Jewel-Osco, Pavilions, Randalls, Safeway, Shaw’s, Star Market, Tom Thumb and Vons. Enoki King Mushroom Farm recalls Enoki due to Listeria monocytogenes

The FDA reported that Enoki King Mushroom Farm (Ventura, CA) recalled lot 4877 of its 5.3-ounce (150g) packages of Enoki Mushroom (Product of USA) because it has the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. The recalled Enoki comes in a clear plastic package with the “Enoki Mushroom” description in English and French with the lot code 4877. The products were distributed from CA and NY through produce distributors or wholesalers to retail stores nationwide. No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this problem. The potential for contamination was noted after routine testing by the Maryland State Department of Health revealed the presence of Listeria monocytogenes in a 5.3 oz package of Enoki.
