Wegmans recalled Abilyn’s Ice Cream Cakes due to Listeria monocytogenes, impacting 25 states

Newsweek reported that Abilyn's (Frozen Bakery of Wilmington, MA) posted on the company website that they were informed on Friday, June 21, 2024, by a production partner that recent testing by the FDA had detected possible contamination of Listeria monocytogenes on the production line that has been used to produce the Abilyn's Frozen Bakery ice cream cakes. The company said there is currently no indication that the ice cream cakes have been contaminated, but out of an abundance of caution, a recall has been issued for all flavors of ice cream cake with a Best By date between 4/20/24 and 4/20/25. Wegmans Supermarket has also posted a recall letting consumers know that the recalled Abilyn's Ice Cream Cakes were sold at their stores. The ice cream was also sold in Whole Foods, Market Basket, Hannaford, Weis, Roche Bros., Big Y, Dave's, Giant, and Safeway. Newsweek has now created a map showing the affected areas.@ https://www.newsweek.com/ice-cream-cake-recall-abilyn-listeria-1916353
