The FDA and CDC, in collaboration with state and local partners, are investigating a multistate outbreak of Salmonella Bovismorificans infections linked to broccoli sprouts and microgreens grown from a contaminated seed lot. This outbreak is currently being investigated separately from the Shiga toxin-producing E. coli and Salmonella outbreak linked to alfalfa sprouts. As part of this investigation, FDA collected and analyzed a seed sample from the identified seed supplier. The seed sample tested positive, and WGS analysis showed it matched the same Salmonella Bovismorificans strain that made people sick in this outbreak. As a result, the seed supplier recalled the implicated seed lot and contacted its customers. On October 2, 2026, EAK Distribution of Casper, WY, recalled Home Grown green sprouting broccoli seeds after the seed supplier notified them that seed lot #W4105 was linked to this outbreak. On October 7, 2026, Eden Brothers LLC, of Arden, NC, recalled Calabrese broccoli seeds in packets and in 1-oz and 1-lb sizes (Eden Brothers lots 1022067 and 1022068; supplier lot W4105) after its seed supplier notified it that lot #W4105 may be contaminated with Salmonella. Consumers, restaurants, and retailers should not use recalled seeds. There were a total of 32people ill, with 3 Hospitalizations, and no deaths. States with Cases: ID, MN, MT, OR, UT, and
WA. @
