The CFIA reported that Malicita and Rudy whole cantaloupes were recalled from the Canadian market due to Salmonella. The recalled whole cantaloupes were sold in Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, and Quebec and may also have been distributed in other Canadian provinces and territories. The Malichita products were sold between October 11, 2023, and November 14, 2023, and the Rudy between October 10, 2023, and November 24, 2023.
