The CORE update of December 26, 2024

The CORE list of outbreaks and adverse events includes six activities. A new outbreak of Listeria monocytogenes (ref #1281) linked to an unidentified product has been added to the table. FDA has initiated traceback. The outbreak of E. coli O145:H28 (ref #1282) was linked to an unidentified food, and the outbreak has ended. In the outbreak of E. coli O157:H7 (ref #1280), the confirmed vehicle was updated from iceberg/romaine lettuce blend to romaine lettuce due to the traceback investigation. The case count has increased from 86 to 88. The outbreak of Salmonella Typhimurium (ref #1277) linked to imported American or Slicer type cucumbers, the FDA updated the advisory on December 19, 2024, to include 100illnesses, 25 hospitalizations in 23 States (AK, AZ, CA, CO, IA, IL, MA, MI, MT, NE, NJ, NM, NV, NY, OH, OR, PA, SD, TX, UT, WA, WI and WY). @ https://www.fda.gov/food/outbreaks-foodborne-illness/investigations-foodborne-illness-outbreaks?utm_medium=email&utm_source=govdelivery
