The CORE update for September 30, 2026

The CORE update lists 16 outbreaks and adverse event postings. A new outbreak of Listeria monocytogenes (ref #1415) linked to a not yet identified product has been added to the table. FDA has initiated traceback. A new outbreak of E. coli O26:H11 (ref #1419) linked to raw milk cheese has been added to the table. On September 25, 2026, the raw milk cheese manufacturer issued a voluntary recall. On September 25, 2026, the FDA issued an outbreak advisory and initiated traceback. This outbreak includes 13 illnesses, 8 hospitalizations, 3 HUS, and no deaths. The following states have cases:  CA, CO, GA, KY, MI, NV, OR, TN, UT. For the E. coli O157:H7 outbreak (ref #1421), the case count has increased from 25 to 38. FDA has initiated sample collection. For the Listeria monocytogenes outbreak (ref #1417), the case count has increased from 40 to 44. For the Cyclospora outbreak (ref #1392), the case count increased from 234 to 235. For the Listeria monocytogenes outbreak (ref #1379), the case count increased from 10 to 11. For the outbreak of Clostridium botulinum (ref #1383) linked to powdered infant formula, FDA’s outbreak investigation has closed.
