The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPAQ) alerted the public not to consume beef jerky prepared and sold by Boucherie L & L Boucher

The Canadian Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPAQ), in collaboration with Boucherie L & L Boucher ( Mont-Saint-Grégoire), advises the public not to consume its Beef Jerky because this because it is likely to contain Listeria monocytogenes. The product was vacuum packed and sold refrigerated.

The operator voluntarily recalls the product in question. It has agreed with MAPAQ to issue this warning as a precautionary measure. In addition, people who have this product in their possession are advised not to consume it. They must return it to the establishment where they bought it or throw it away. The Commissioner of FDA announced that Tracey Forfa is the New Director of FDA’s Center for Veterinary Medicine

The commissioner of the FDA, Robert M. Califf, M.D., announced that Tracey Forfa, J.D., a 30-year veteran of the agency, is the new director of the FDA’s Center for Veterinary Medicine (CMV). Ms. Forfa has been acting in the position since December 2022, when the previous director Steven M. Solomon, retired from Federal service. She has been with CVM since 2002 and was appointed the Deputy Center Director in 2008. She also previously served as Acting Director in 2016. Ms. Forfa is the first non-veterinarian to hold the CVM directorship. Another enoki recall due to Listeria monocytogenes-Xin Ao International Group Corp. Recalls “Sss Enoki Mushroom” & “K-Fresh Mushroom.”

The FDA reported that Xin Ao International Group Corp (Linden, NJ) recalled 200 grams packages of “Sss Enoki Mushroom” and “K-Fresh Mushroom” because it has the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. “Sss Enoki Mushroom” & “K-Fresh Mushroom” were sold at 99 Ranch Supermarket retail stores in MD. The product comes in 200 grams, clear plastic package marked with lot #6953150100677 for “Sss Enoki Mushroom” &4892742010234for “K-Fresh Mushroom” on the top and with an expiration date of 02/15/2023 stamped on the side. The recall resulted from a routine sampling program by the Maryland Department of Health, revealing that the finished products contained the bacteria. The company has stopped the production and distribution of the product. The FDA and the company continue investigating what caused the problem. Listeria monocytogenes in enoki mushrooms seem to be a widespread problem. Lidl GB recalled Deluxe Strolghino Salami because of Salmonella contamination

FSA reported that Lidl GB recalled Deluxe Strolghino Salami because Salmonella was found in the product. Point of sale notices are displayed in retail stores selling this product. The recalled Lidl products are those from the 250g packs and those with Use By dates of April 13, 2023, and May 8, 2023.
