Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) reported that Veg Pak Produce recalled Harvest Fresh brand Zucchini Spirals from the marketplace due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination. The following product has been sold in Ontario. Sysco recalls Cahill’s Original Irish Porter Cheddar because of contamination with Listeria monocytogenes

The FSA issued Product Withdrawal Information Notices and Product Recall Information Notices to let consumers and local authorities know about problems associated with Sysco (Lisburn, Co Antrim). The company recalls batch/lots of Cahill’s Original Irish Porter Cheddar Cheese products from the British marketplace due to suspected Listeria monocytogenes. The recalled product is Cahill’s Original Irish Porter Cheddar Cheese, sold in 2.27-kilogram packages with a batch/lot of 21118, a product code of CH1139, and a use-by date of 28.09.21. Update on Salmonella Typhimurium in BrightFarms packaged salad greens

On July 21, the FDA updated the results of the outbreak of Salmonella Typhimurium in packaged salads produced by BrightFarms in Rochelle, IL., by adding Michigan to the states that received the contaminated products. A total of 11 people got sick, and two were hospitalized. Interview data and shopper card records show that seven people ate or bought multiple types of BrightFarms brand salad products before they got sick, including Sunny Crunch, 50/50 Spring & Spinach, Harvest Crunch, and Butter Crisp. FDA conducted a traceback investigation and identified the farm in Rochelle, IL, as the likely source of the BrightFarms brand salad bought by people who became ill. The BrightFarms-branded products were sold in: Illinois: Mariano’s Fresh Markets, Walmart (select stores), Strack Van Till, Sullivan’s Foods, Caputo’s, Jewel-Osco. Wisconsin: Pick ‘n Save, Metro Market, Copps, Tadych’s, Walmart (select stores). Iowa: Walmart (select stores). Indiana: Strack Van Till. Grimmway Farms recalls retail-packaged carrots due to Salmonella Contamination

The FDA reported that Grimmway Farms had issued a recall of carrot products because they may have been contaminated with Salmonella. The recall was initiated as a result of an internal test. The products recalled include Organic Cut and Peeled Baby (Bunny LUV, 1 lb), Organic Premium Petite Bunny LUV 3 lb), Organic Petite Carrots (Cal-Organic 12 Oz), Shredded Carrots (Grimmway Farms 10 Oz), Organic Peeled Baby-Cut Carrots (O Organic 1 lb), and Organic Baby Rainbow Carrots. In addition to the retail-packed products, the company recalled shredded carrots and chopped (chunk) carrots sold to food manufacturers and foodservice distributors. All affected food manufacturers, foodservice distributors, and retail customers have been notified, with much of the product were recaptured before being available for consumption.
