Battaglia’s Lorne Park Marketplace brand Raspberries recalled due to norovirus

The CFIA reported that it triggered a recall of Battaglia Lorne Park recalled frozen raspberries from the Canadian marketplace due to possible Norovirus contamination. The recalled product was sold in Ontario. FDA advises restaurants and retailers, and consumers not to serve or sell and eat raw oysters from Dai One Food, the Republic of Korea, contaminated with Norovirus

The FDA is advising consumers not to eat, and restaurants and food retailers not to sell, and to dispose of Dai One Food Co., Ltd., frozen raw half shell, IQF. The product was sold in Hawaii, Georgia, and Minnesota. The Hawaii Department of Health notified the FDA of five illnesses from individuals who consumed raw oyster shooters at a restaurant in Hawaii on 5/10/23. Traceback information revealed the source for the implicated raw oysters was a shipment by Dai One Food Co., Ltd., ROK, harvested on 4/13/2022 and 4/14/2022 from Designated Area No. II. Samples collected from the 04/14/2022 harvest date were tested for the presence of Norovirus. Norovirus GII was detected in one of the two samples collected. Further traceback information identified shipments from Dai One Food Co., Ltd., ROK of oysters harvested on 4/13 2022 and 4/14/2022 from Designated Area No. II was also distributed to Georgia. The Minnesota Department of Health notified the FDA of five norovirus illnesses from individuals who consumed raw oysters at a restaurant in Minnesota on 6/3/2023 and 6/4/2023. Traceback information revealed the source for the implicated raw oysters was a shipment by Dai One Food Co., Ltd., ROK, harvested between 2/10/2022 and 2/24/2022 in Designated Area No. II. Cricket Creek Farm expands recall of cheeses because of Listeria monocytogenes contamination and inadequate pasteurization

The FDA reported that Cricket Creek Farm (Williamstown, MA) expended their recall of Sophelise and Tobasi cheeses due to potential contamination with Listeria monocytogenes to include one lot of Berkshire Bloom cheese because pasteurization records did not illustrate the heating element reached the required temperature. Sophelise, Tobasi, and Berkshire Bloom cheeses were distributed in Massachusetts and New York through Wild Oats, Williamstown, MA; Provisions Williamstown, Williamstown, MA; Wells Provisions, Charlemont, MA; McEnroe Organic Farm Market, Millerton, NY; New Lebanon Farmers Market; New Lebanon, NY, at restaurants, and farmers markets. Sophelise cheese, product code: 087055 is a washed, pasteurized milk cheese with a soft rind and pinkish hue; the circular cheese measures 4 inches in diameter and roughly 1 inch tall. It is sold in semi-transparent packaging with a round blue label. Sophelise was distributed between March 29, 2023, and May 26, 2023. Tobasi cheese with a product label of 315, 341, and 048 is a washed raw-milk cheese with an orange rind and creamy interior. When sold retail by Cricket Creek Farm, it is wrapped in clear packaging with a gray and orange label. When sold at retail stores, it is sold in small rectangular cuts. When sold wholesale, the cheese is a square format, roughly 8”x8” and 1.25 inches tall. These batches of Tobasi were distributed between March 26, 2023, and May 26, 2023. Berkshire Bloom cheese, with a product label 076, is a camembert style, bloomy rind cheese. The circular cheese is 4 inches in diameter and roughly 1.25 inches tall. It’s sold on white cheese paper with a blue label. This batch of cheese was distributed between April 20, 2023, and May 12, 2023. One hospitalization due to Listeria monocytogenes has been reported to date associated with the Sophelise cheese. Following this customer notification of illness, products purchased by this individual were tested by the Biotrax Testing Laboratory, and the current batch of Sophelise cheese was determined to be positive for Listeria monocytogenes. These three batches of Tobasi cheese were also determined to be positive for Listeria monocytogenes. Wawona Frozen Foods recalls Organic Daybreak Blend processed and sold in 2022 Due to Hepatitis A

The FDA reported that Wawona Frozen Foods (Clovis, California) recalled a year-old packages of its Organic DayBreak Blend distributed to Costco Wholesale stores in Arizona, California, Colorado, Utah, and Washington from April 15, 2022, to June 26, 2022, because the DayBreak Blend includes organic frozen strawberries grown in Mexico which may have the potential to be contaminated with Hepatitis A. There have been no illnesses associated with this voluntary and precautionary recall.
