The USDA/ FSIS announced that Phu Huong Food Company (Rosemead, California) is recalling approximately 602 pounds of ready-to-eat (RTE) beef and chicken meatball products that may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. The fully cooked RTE beef and chicken meatballs were produced on Oct. 2, 2023, and packaged on Oct. 3, 2023. 11-oz. vacuum-sealed packages containing “BÒ VIÊN PHÙ-HƯƠNG GÂN BEEF MEATBALLS (WITH BEEF TENDONS) (Chicken added / Cô Gá)” with lot codes 200101 through 200124. The products were shipped to retail locations in California. The problem was discovered when FSIS performed routine product testing, and the results identified Listeria monocytogenes in the product. In the UK, FSA reported that Moonshine’s Products Ltd is recalling several products because of temperature control breaches, microbiological contamination risks, and other potential food safety risks as a result of unsafe production procedures, which make these products unsafe to eat and means they could potentially cause serious illness or death if consumed. @ https://www.food.gov.uk/news-alerts/alert/fsa-prin-37-2023

The USDA-FSIS announced that Don Miguel Foods (Dallas, Texas) recalled approximately 10,642 pounds of frozen ready-to-eat (RTE) carne asada burritos potentially contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. The 7-oz. individual wax paper packages contain “DON MIGUEL Hand Made BURRITO CARNE ASADA” with date code D23270 printed on the package. The products were shipped to retail convenience store locations nationwide. The company laboratory testing discovered the problem indicated the product may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. The establishment notified FSIS that some affected product was distributed into commerce. The CFIA reports that Ararat Trading (2002) Corp. (Mississauga, Ontario) is expanding its existing recall of Ararat Tahina Spreads from the Canadian marketplace to include additional geographical distribution information. The Ararat branded Tahina Spreads are sold in 600 gram bottles. The food recall warning issued on 2023-09-24 has been updated to include additional distribution information. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency test results triggered this recall.
