Piantedosi Baking Company recalled products due to the recall of raw material from Lyons Magnus

The FDA reported that Piantedosi Baking Company, Inc. recalled select dinner rolls, sandwich rolls, and bun products used in limited products made between March 21, 2022, and April 25, 2022. The recall is due to the Lyons Magnus recall dated August 10, 2022, recall of a raw material used in limited production of dinner rolls, sandwich rolls, and bun products from the manufacturer of Golden Gloss glaze (Lyons Magnus).  Lyons Magnus recalled this raw material due to its potential to cause microbial contamination, including the organisms Cronobacter sakazakii and/or Clostridium botulinum.   While no illnesses associated with Piantedosi Baking Company, Inc. bread products have been reported, and no pathogens have been found in Piantedosi Baking Company, Inc. products to date, this voluntary recall is being conducted out of an abundance of caution to ensure customer safety. @ https://www.fda.gov/safety/recalls-market-withdrawals-safety-alerts/piantedosi-baking-company-inc-issues-voluntary-recall-due-recall-raw-material-lyons-magnus?utm_medium=email&utm_source=govdelivery

In Canada Life120 brand “Ricotta Di Bufala Campana Dop” recalled due to generic E. coli

According to the CFIA, La Fromagerie Hamel / Les Fromageries Pimar Inc.  (Montreal, Quebec) recalled Life120 branded Ricotta Di Bufala Campana Dop Cheese from the Canadian marketplace due to suspected Escherichia Coli (“E. Coli”) contamination.  Life120 branded Ricotta Di Bufala Campana Dop Cheese, sold in 250 gram packages. Updated information about the E. coli O157:H7 outbreak related to Wendy’s lettuce

The CDC reported that while a specific food has not yet been confirmed as the source of this outbreak, many sick people reported eating burgers and sandwiches with romaine lettuce at Wendy’s restaurants before getting sick. Since August 19, 2022, 47 more illnesses have been reported to CDC since the last update. As of August 24, 2022, a total of 84 people infected with the outbreak strain of E. coli O157:H7 have been reported from 4 states (IN (2), MI (53), OH (23), and PA (2)). Of 73 people with information available, 38 have been hospitalized, and 8 in Michigan have developed hemolytic uremic syndrome. No deaths have been reported. The actual number of sick people in this outbreak is likely higher than the number reported, and the outbreak may not be limited to the states with known illnesses. The Wendy’s restaurants where sick people ate are in Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. People reported eating a variety of menu items, including burgers and sandwiches. The FDA reported that as of August 25, 2022, they received 369 Consumer Adverse Event Reports (CAERS) related to the French Lentil & Leek Crumbles. There have been 125 hospitalizations due to the product.
