In the UK, Co-op recalls Co-op Smooth Brussels Pate due to contamination with Salmonella and Listeria monocytogenes

The FSA reported that Co-op stores are recalling Brussels Pate 175g due to an ongoing Investigation Into the possible presence of Salmonella & Listeria monocytogenes. The affected products come in packs of 175g and have best before dates of November 19, 21, and 28. The Food Standards Agency (FSA) warned Britons: “The products listed above might be contaminated with Salmonella and Listeria monocytogenes.@ https://www.food.gov.uk/news-alerts/alert/fsa-prin-42-2024

Update on the Listeria Outbreak Linked to Boar Head Meats Sliced at Delis

The CDC updated the Listeria monocytogenes outbreak number of victims as of September 25, 2024. The outbreak has 59 cases, 59 hospitalizations, and 10 deaths in 19 states. The rate of detection of new cases had slowed down. Epidemiologic, laboratory, and traceback data showed that meats sliced at delis, including Boar’s Head brand liverwurst, were contaminated with Listeria and made people sick. Products sold at the deli, especially those sliced or prepared at the deli, can be contaminated with Listeria. CORE Outbreak Investigation update September 25, 2024

CORE update of September 25, 2024: the CORE list of outbreaks and adverse events includes eight activities. There was only one change for this week.
