In the UK, Waitrose & Partners recalled No1 Pesto alla Genovese due to Salmonella The FSA and Waitrose & Partners Waitrose & Partners Waitrose & Partners have recalled jars of its own-brand Pesto because it may be contaminated with Salmonella. The FSA alert stated that Salmonella had been detected in No1 Pesto alla Genovese with the use by 26 September. The major supermarket chain warned consumers who’ve bought the fresh, basil-based sauce not to eat it. The Pesto was sold in 145g size jars.
