Multistate Outbreak of Salmonella Linked to Shredded Frozen Coconut

The CDC, public health and regulatory officials in several states, and the FDA are investigating a multistate outbreak of Salmonella infecting at least 25 people with the outbreak strains of Salmonella I 4,[5],12:b:- (24 people) or Salmonella Newport (1 person from 9 states. An additional person from Canada was infected with the outbreak strain of Salmonella I 4,[5],12:b:-.
