The FDA reported that Liberty Fruit Company, Inc. is recalling packages containing cantaloupe because they have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella. On the label, it claims to be prepared by Carol’s Cut (Kansas City, KS). The recalled products were distributed to retail stores and foodservice operations in Missouri, Kansas, Iowa, and Nebraska. The product is packaged in 4 oz, 8 oz, 16 oz, and 32 oz (consumer only) and 5 lb (foodservice only) clear plastic containers marked Fruit Medley, Fruit Tray, Fruit Salad, Cantaloupe Chunks, Hawaiian Blend, and Melon Medley. The contamination was discovered by a routine sample analyzed by the FDA that resulted in a positive test for Salmonella. @ https://www.fda.gov/safety/recalls-market-withdrawals-safety-alerts/liberty-fruit-company-inc-recalls-processed-cantaloupe-possible-health-risk
