Investigations of Foodborne Illness Outbreaks update October 17, 2024

Foodborne illnesses and outbreak update of October 17, 2024: the list of illnesses and outbreaks includes eight activities. A new outbreak of Salmonella Thompson (ref #1262) linked to a product that has not yet been identified has been added to the table. FDA has initiated traceback. The outbreak of Salmonella Enteritidis linked to eggs (ref #1250), the advisory was updated on October 17, 2024. The outbreak has ended, and the FDA’s investigation is closed. The outbreak of E. coli O157:H7 was linked to a product that had not yet been identified (ref #1249), and the case count increased from 27 to 28 cases. The outbreak of Salmonella Newport was linked to a product that was not identified (ref #1248), and the case count increased from 7 to 9 cases. The outbreak has ended, and the FDA’s investigation is closed. The outbreak of Salmonella Typhimurium was linked to a product that had not yet been identified (ref #1234), so the outbreak has ended.
