The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA), alongside the Food Standards Agency (FSA) and other public health partners, continues to investigate three clusters of Salmonella Enteritidis (t5.9411, t5.9765 and t0.24068) in the UK that evidence suggests may be linked to imported eggs. For t5.9411, as of 10 am on 15 September 2026, the UKHSA has been notified of a total of 355 cases (an increase of 33 cases since last week’s report) in the t5.9411 cluster in England. Case dates range from 11 August 2025 to 7 September 2026. In the past 4 weeks (18 August 2026 to 15 September 2026), England has reported 125 cases. Of the cases with information available (n=173), 45 (26%) have been admitted to hospital, and one death is associated with this outbreak cluster. As of 10 am on 15 September 2026, the UKHSA has been notified of a total of 189 cases (an increase of 3 cases since last week’s report) in the t0.24068 cluster in England. Case dates range from 27 May 2025 to 2 September 2026. In the past 4 weeks (18 August 2026 to 15 September 2026), England reported 14 cases. As of 10 am on 15 September 2026, the UKHSA has been notified of a total of 42 cases (an increase of 1 case since last week’s report) in the t5.9765 cluster in England. Case dates range from 27 January 2026 to 24 August 2026. In the past 4 weeks (18 August 2026 to 15 September 2026), 4 cases have been reported in England. As of 15 September 2026, there have been 355 confirmed cases and one death linked to the t5.9411 cluster in England, with sample dates ranging from 11 August 2025 to 07 September 2026. A total of 189 confirmed cases linked to the t0.24068 cluster in England, with no deaths reported, and sample dates ranging from 27 May 2025 to 02 September 2026; a total of 42 confirmed cases and one death linked to the t5.9765 cluster in England, with sample dates ranging from 27 January 2026 to 24 August 2026. Fewer cases have been reported over recent weeks. Cases continue to be linked to eating at a range of food outlets, including small cafés, restaurants, and takeaway businesses.
