In Quebec City, the MAPAQ issued a warning not to consume lean ground beef and pork sold by Au Saucisson Vaudois due to E. coli

The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPAQ), in collaboration with the company Au Saucisson Vaudois (368, rue Principale, in Sainte-Brigide-d'Iberville), advised the public not to consume the lean ground beef and pork as these foods may contain the E. coli bacteria that produce Shiga toxins. The products subject to this warning were sold until November 1, 2024. They were packaged in a plastic pouch with the words "Au Saucisson Vaudois" written on one side. They were sold frozen. The operator is voluntarily recalling the products in question. However, properly cooking meat destroys E. coli. No cases of illness associated with consuming these foods have been reported to MAPAQ to date. @ https://www.quebec.ca/nouvelles/actualites/details/avis-de-ne-pas-consommer-de-boeuf-et-de-porc-haches-maigres-vendus-par-lentreprise-au-saucisson-vaudois-59289
