Improving Food Safety with Blockchain

Walmart partnered with IBM and several other food giants, such as McCormick, Unilever, Nestle, Danone, Tyson Foods, and Driscoll’s to implement blockchain system for food safety. In a video Walmart Vice President of Food Safety, Frank Yiannas describes the advantages of Blockchain to the food industry. Blockchain brings more traceability to the industry and helps accelerate and pinpoint recalled products and allow a very quick removal of such products from the shelves.
