The Department of Health and Human Services DHHS) officials are warning people not to drink raw milk that was produced with best-by dates through March 22, 2025, by Brookvale Pines Farm due to Listeria concerns. DHHS officials said the New Hampshire Department of Agriculture, Markets, and Food notified officials that a cow at the farm was diagnosed with a Listeria infection. Brookvale Pines Farm had to euthanize one of its cows because of a neurological illness. Health officials then found it tested positive for a strain of listeria that could have gotten into the raw milk the farm sells. Brookvale Pines Farm raw milk was sold in half-gallon containers at the Brookvale Mercantile in Brentwood, New Hampshire. The farm is not selling raw milk while further testing is ongoing, health officials said. Brookvale Pines Farm raw milk was last available for purchase on March 12. "We don't know how long the bacteria might have been in the cow's body, and we don't know if there was this bacteria in the raw milk that was sold before the cow became obviously ill," said Dr. Benjamin Chan, New Hampshire state epidemiologist. @ https://www.wmur.com/article/dhhs-listeria-raw-milk-new-hampshire-31425/64186741
