CORE update of February 14, 2024

CORE update of February 14, 2024: the CORE list of outbreaks and adverse events includes only two activity cases, the same as last week. The outbreak of Listeria monocytogenes (ref #1214) is linked to Queso Fresco and Cotija Cheese manufactured by Rizo Lopez Foods, Inc. The FDA has been notified of additional companies who have issued public notifications or recalls for products linked to the Rizo-Lopez Foods, Inc. dairy recall that were sold at retail locations. MG Foods was added to the table. The advisory was updated to include investigation updates for the investigation of elevated lead levels in Cinnamon Applesauce Pouches (ref # 1198). As of February 13, 2024, the FDA has not received any additional confirmed complaints/reports of adverse events potentially linked to the recalled product.
