CORE update as of August 16, 2023

CORE update as of August 16, 2023, the CORE list of outbreaks and adverse events includes five active cases. There were no new cases this week. For the outbreak of Listeria monocytogenes (ref #1172) potentially linked to ice cream, a recall was issued on 8/10/2023, and sample collection and analysis have been initiated. For the outbreak of Cyclospora cayetanensis (ref #1171), the case count has increased from 55 to 59 cases. The outbreak has ended, and FDA’s investigation has closed.
