CORE Outbreak Investigation update November 27, 2024

CORE update of November 27, 2024: the CORE list of outbreaks and adverse events includes nine activities. A new outbreak of Salmonella Typhimurium (ref #1277), linked to an unidentified product, has been added to the table. FDA has initiated traceback. The outbreak of E. coli O157:H7 (ref #1269) linked to an unidentified product, the case count has increased from 21 to 25 cases. The outbreak of E. coli O121:H19 (ref #1273) linked to organic whole and baby carrots supplied by Grimmway Farms, FDA has updated, as of November 21, 2024, the recall expanded to include Bunny Luv: 50-lb, Cal-Organic: 15-lb and 50-lb, and Good & Gather 1-lb. There were 39 illnesses, 15 hospitalizations, and one death. States with Cases: AR, CA, CO, MA, MI, MN, MO, NC, NJ, NY, OH, OR, PA, SC, TX, VA, WA, and WY. The product was distributed internationally to Canada, Colombia, Hong Kong, and the United Arab Emirates. The FDA has initiated an onsite inspection and sample collection.
