CORE Outbreak Investigation update November 20, 2024

CORE update of November 20, 2024: the CORE list of outbreaks and adverse events includes eight activities. The outbreak of E. coli O157:H7 (ref #1269) linked to an unidentified product, the case count has increased from 18 to 21 cases. The outbreak of E. coli O121:H19 (ref #1273) was linked to organic whole and baby carrots supplied by Grimmway Farms. The FDA issued an advisory reporting 39 illnesses, 15 hospitalizations, and one death. Grimmway Farms has voluntarily recalled several sizes and brands of bagged, organic whole and baby carrots. States with cases include AR, CA, CO, MA, MI, MN, MO, NC, NJ, NY, OH, OR, PA, SC, TX, VA, WA, and WY. The outbreak of Salmonella Liverpool (ref #1265) linked to an unidentified product has ended without identifying the food. The investigation of illnesses (ref #1233) linked to Diamond Shruumz-brand Chocolate Bars, Cones, and Gummies, the advisory was updated on November 15, 2024. The outbreak includes 180 illnesses, 73 hospitalizations  73, and 3 deaths.
