City Foods recalled RTE Pastrami and Corned Beef due to Listeria monocytogenes. On August 13, 2026, the USDA-FSIS issued a release to revise the label to reflect the correct Midamar product label, the accurate number of pieces contained in each box, and the item number reflected on the label. The correct amount per box is four 2.5-lb. pieces, replacing the incorrect amount of 2- to 5-lb. pieces. City Foods, Inc. (Chicago, IL)., recalled approximately 3,215 pounds of ready-to-eat (RTE) pastrami and corned beef products that may be adulterated with Listeria monocytogenes (Lm), USDA FSIS announced on August 08, 2026.. The RTE pastrami and corned beef products were produced on July 16, 2026, and have a 60-day shelf life. The following products are subject to recall. The products were shipped to foodservice locations in Illinois, Iowa, and Michigan, from which they were further distributed nationwide. The problem was discovered during routine inspection activities. No confirmed reports of illness have been linked to consumption of these products.
