Update on the outbreak investigation of Salmonella in cucumbers (May 2025)

The FDA CDC, and with state and local partners, are investigating illnesses in a multistate outbreak of Salmonella Montevideo infections linked to cucumbers grown by Bedner Growers, Inc., in Boynton Beach, Florida, and distributed by Fresh Start Produce Sales, Inc., of Delray, Florida. As a result of the recall, additional recalls are being conducted by companies that used or repackaged recalled cucumbers grown by Bedner Growers, Inc., including Harris Teeter (fresh cucumbers and vegetable trays), Kroger (Yummi Sushi-branded products), Penn Rose Farm LLC (5-pound mesh bags of whole cucumbers), and Ukrop’s Homestyle Foods LLC (Marinated Cucumber salads). Do not eat, sell, or serve recalled cucumbers grown by Bedner Growers, Inc. and distributed by Fresh Start Produce Sales, Inc.
