The CDC reported that as of July 15, 2025, 244 cases of cyclosporiasis had been reported in people who acquired the infection in the United States. 26 states reported cases. These individuals became ill after consuming food in the United States and did not report any travel within the 14 days preceding their illness. As of July 15, 2025, 240 cases were reported in people who ate or drank food or water that made them sick while traveling outside the United States within the 14 days preceding their illness. Sick people range in age from 1 to 90 years, with a median age of 45, and 65% are female. The median illness onset date is June 9, 2025 (range: May 1to July 8). Of the 240 people with available information, 10 were hospitalized.
