The FDA reported that Quesito El Establo, of Salem, NH, recalled all of its Spanish Cheese (Quesito Colombiano) products manufactured at its facility due to the presence of rodents, rodent activity, and other unsanitary conditions during the production and storage process. There are numerous risks associated with rodents, including the potential presence of Salmonella. The Spanish Cheese was distributed in Massachusetts at retail stores targeting Hispanic/Latino customers. All products with product code AUG 22 2025 or earlier are included in the recall. The recalled product is wrapped in plastic and placed inside Ziploc bags. Each unit weighs approximately 1 pound and has a blue sticker with an image of a cow in the center and the words "Quesito Colombiano" written in yellow underneath. To date, no cases of illness have been reported. The recall is the result of an FDA inspection that found unsanitary conditions. Quesito El Establo has halted production and distribution of the product while the FDA and the company continue their investigation. @ https://www.fda.gov/safety/recalls-market-withdrawals-safety-alerts/quesito-el-establo-retira-del-mercado-queso-quesito-colombiano-debido-posible-riesgo-para-la-salud
