According to the CDC (@ https://www.cdc.gov/salmonella/kratom-02-18/index.html), since our Report on April 4th, 2018 (http://ask-bioexpert.com/all/salmonella-kratom-causes-fda-orders-mandatory-recall/ ) the number of illnesses has increased from 87 to 132 and three states were added to the list.

According to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) the Quebec-based Les Cuisines Gaspésiennes de Matane Ltée has issued a nationwide recall of some of its smoked ham products over possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination. The recall was prompted by the results of a test conducted by CFIA, showing Listeria monocytogenes. The CFIA is conducting a food safety investigation, which may lead to the recall of other products. If other high-risk products are recalled, the CFIA will notify the public through updated Food Recall Warnings. The CFIA is verifying that industry is removing recalled product from the marketplace. Walmart partnered with IBM and several other food giants, such as McCormick, Unilever, Nestle, Danone, Tyson Foods, and Driscoll’s to implement blockchain system for food safety. In a video Walmart Vice President of Food Safety, Frank Yiannas describes the advantages of Blockchain to the food industry. Blockchain brings more traceability to the industry and helps accelerate and pinpoint recalled products and allow a very quick removal of such products from the shelves.
