The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) announced that Sofina Foods Inc. is recalling Compliments brand Chicken Strips (Chicken Strips – Breaded Chicken Cutlettes – Uncooked) from the marketplace to avoid possible Salmonella illnesses. The recall was triggered by findings of CFIA during its investigation into a foodborne illness outbreak that identified this product as a source of illness. Outbreak of Salmonella Concord Linked to Tahini Expended
The FDA announced that on May 20, 2019, Brodt Zenatti Holdings, LLC of Jupiter, Florida expanded their recall to include SoCo brand tahini sold in 135-ounce containers. This product is being recalled in addition to retail and bulk Karawan brand tahini sold in 16-ounce jars and 39-pound buckets. The tahini recalled may be labeled as either “Karawan Tahini,” “El-Karawan Tahini,” or “Soco Tahini.” This tahini was sold in bulk to retailers and restaurants and was also available at retail locations and online. Aurora Packing Company, Inc. Recalled Beef Products Due to E. coli O157:H7
The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today that Aurora Packing Company, Inc., from North Aurora, Ill., is recalling approximately 62,112 pounds of raw beef products that may be contaminated with E. coli O157:H7. The raw beef products were packaged on April 19, 2019. These items were shipped nationwide for further distribution and processing. The problem was discovered during traceback activities in response to random sample testing by FSIS.
