Barossa Fine Foods Patés recalled in Australia due to Listeria monocytogenes

According to the ACCC, Knoll Consultants & Investments Pty Ltd., trading as ​​Barossa Fine Foods (Edinburgh North, South Australia), recalls Barossa Fine Foods branded Patés from the Australian marketplace due to suspected Listeria monocytogenes contamination. The recalled products are Duck & Walnut Pate 110g, Black Pepper Port Pate 110g, and Duck Terrine Pate 110g. Flagship Food Group recalls frozen cauliflower due to Listeria monocytogenes

The FDA reported that Flagship Food Group of Eagle (Idaho) recalls a limited number of cases of frozen cauliflower, TJ Farms Select brand because it can be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. The cauliflower was imported from China.  The product was distributed in PA, TN, and WI. No illnesses have been reported to date. This voluntary recall is initiated due to a single sample of cauliflower which yielded a positive result for Listeria monocytogenes in a random sample test conducted by the Minnesota Department of Agriculture.

CDC report on Salmonella outbreaks linked to backyard poultry

The CDC issued its annual report on Salmonella outbreaks linked to backyard poultry. The investigation found Salmonella infections with serotypes of Enteritidis, Hadar, Indiana, Infantis, Mbandaka, and Muenchen. Epidemiologic and laboratory data showed that contact with backyard poultry made people sick. WGS showed that bacteria from sick people’s samples were closely related genetically. The CDC reports that 1,135 people were infected with one of the outbreak strains in 48 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico. A total of 264 separate purchases from more than 150 purchase locations of 70 different companies were reported. The recalled products are Sesame seeds white org bulk sold from August 11, 2021, to November 16, 2021, sold at Amaranth Whole Foods Market, Sesame seeds white org bulk sold at Amaranth 4th Street Market, 1407 4th St., Calgary, Sesame seeds white org bulk Packed on OCT-21-21, sold at Amaranth Health, 5222 130 Ave. SE, Calgary, Sesame seeds white org bulk sold from August 23, 2021, to November 17, 2021, sold at Amaranth Whole Foods Market, 7 Arbour Lake Dr. NW, Calgary, and Going Nuts salad Crunchy (Mix), 300 g, sold in Alberta and online. The recall was triggered by test results.
