The CFIA announced that Ferrero Canada Ltd. recalled more than a dozen additional Kinder brand chocolate products from the marketplace due to possible Salmonella contamination. The recalled products have been sold nationally. As a result of the contamination in the Arlon Belgium factory, more chocolates are being recalled in more than 60 countries. Food Standards Australia New Zealand announced that Ferrero Australia Pty. Ltd. is conducting a recall of various Kinder chocolate products (see below). The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) reported that Global Reach Confections & More Inc. recalled Verstegen brand “Mix Voor Nasi & Bami Goreng” from the marketplace due to possible Salmonella contamination. The recalled product was sold from Co-op Food Store, 4705 49 St., Barrhead, AB. A recall in the Netherland triggered this recall. The FDA reported that Ferrero U.S.A. (Parsippany, New Jersey) recalled its Kinder ® Happy Moments Chocolate Assortment and Kinder ® Mix Chocolate Treats basket because the product may be contaminated with Salmonella Typhimurium. Two products were recalled “Kinder Happy Moments Milk Chocolate and Crispy Wafers Assortment” and “Kinder Mix Chocolate Treats Basket.” In the manufacturing facility where the products were manufactured, Salmonella typhimurium was detected.
