This recall was initiated when the company notified the FDA and the West Virginia Department of Health of the potential presence of Salmonella in this specific lot. The company has received no reports of illness or injury to date. The recalled product was distributed to New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Wal-Mart stores nationwide during the first two weeks of May 2022. For the outbreaks of Cyclospora in not yet identified products, cases from the Cyclospora outbreak (ref# 1084) have been re-grouped into the other Cyclospora outbreak (ref#1080) based on genomic data provided by the CDC. In the outbreak of Cyclospora (ref# 1080), the case count has been adjusted from 6 to 70. For the outbreak of Cyclospora (ref# 1084), the case count has been adjusted from 98 to 41 cases. An on-site inspection has been initiated for the E. coli O157:H7 in a not yet identified food. For the Salmonella Senftenberg outbreak in a not yet identified food (ref# 1087), the case count has increased from 19 to 22 cases, and traceback has been initiated. The FDA reported that Epicurean Butter LLC (Thornton, CO) recalled 3.5-ounce tubs of ” Wegmans Lemon Dill Finishing Butter” due to a recall from the frozen dill supplier, SupHerb Farms, due to contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. The “Wegmans Lemon Dill Finishing Butter ” were distributed at Wegmans Food Markets in New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, Massachusetts, Virginia, North Carolina, and Washington DC. The product comes in a 3.5-ounce black plastic cup with a Wegman’s label around and on the lid. The cup has a sealed lidding film under the lid. No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this problem.
