The FDA reported that California Terra Garden Inc. (Commerce, CA) recalls all cases of its 150g/5.3-ounce packages of Seafood Mushroom (Product of China) because it has the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.  The recalled products were distributed from California through produce distributors or wholesalers to retail stores nationwide. The Seafood mushroom comes in a clear plastic package with the description “Seafood Mushroom” in English and French and Guan’s logo on the front. At the back, there is UPC code 859267007501. No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this product. The potential for contamination was noted after routine testing by California Health Department revealed the presence of Listeria monocytogenes in one 150g package of Seafood mushroom. The FDA reported that Tiger Nuts Inc (Newburgh, New York) recalled 200 Kilo’s (440 lbs) of its Tiger Nuts Flour. The product was sold in 1 Kilo Boxes (2.2 lbs) at one retail store in Bend and Corvallis, Oregon, one retail store in Liberty, Missouri, and three online bakers. It has the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella. No illnesses have been reported to date as of 05/27/2021. The FDA reported that Randall Foods, Inc.(Cincinnati, Ohio) recalled jarred beans under the “Hurst’s” Brand because of manufacturing deviations that may pose a potential risk of Botulism. The recalled product, Hurst Fully Cooked Great Northern Beans, is sold in 48-ounce bottles with a batch/lot of TGN19253. Four hundred and thirty-seven (437) cases of affected product were shipped between November 7, 2019, and September 28, 2020, for distribution in the following states: Iowa, Illinois, Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and West Virginia. The manufacturing deviations included a nonfunctioning temperature indicating device, raising the possibility that the product was not effectively processed. There have been no illnesses reported. According to the FSA, ASDA Stores (a Huddersfield (West Yorkshire) and a subsidiary of Walmart Inc. of Bentonville, Arkansas) has recalled some batch/lots of ASDA branded Vegetable Cous Cous products from the British marketplace due to suspected Salmonella contamination.
