lēf Farms Recalls “Spice” Packaged Salad Greens due to E. coli O157:H7

The FDA reported that lēf Farms of Loudon, N.H. recalled a single lot of the lēf Farms “Spice” Packaged Salad Greens (“best by” date 5/5/23, lot number SP10723- 1RGH1, UPC 8 50439 00709 1) produced in its Loudon, New Hampshire greenhouse because they have the potential to be contaminated with Escherichia coli 0157:H7. The product comes in a 4-oz, clear, plastic clamshell container. No illnesses have been reported to date. The recall was initiated when the New Hampshire Department of Agriculture received a positive test result for E. col 0157:H7 in a single package of lēf Farms “Spice” Packaged Salad Greens (4 oz) as part of routine testing. lēf Farms “Spice” is the only product impacted to date, and affected retailers include Hannaford and Market Basket in Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island, and Vermont. Trudeau Farms curly parsley recalled due to Salmonella

The CFIA reported that it had recalled Trudeau Farms Curly Parsley, which is packaged in 160 gram bundles, due to possible contamination with Salmonella. The recall was due to a positive test result by the CFIA. All bunches sold from April 24 to May 3, 2023, are included in this recall. The parsley was sold at Provigo and Maxi retail stores in the province of Quebec. It was sold in bunches with a red twist tie. Rushdi Foods recalled Mighty Sesame Organic Tahini 10.9 oz squeeze bottle due to Salmonella

The FDA reported that Rushdi Food Industries, an Israeli based manufacturer, is voluntarily recalling their Mighty Sesame 10.9 Oz Organic Tahini (Squeezable) with the specific expiration date of 9/25/23 due to potential Salmonella contamination. The recall was initiated when the company received a notification from the FDA and the Ohio Department of Health of the potential presence of Salmonella. No illnesses were reported. CORE update as of May 3, 2023

CORE update as of May 3, 2023, the CORE list of outbreaks and adverse events includes 4 active cases. A new case.(ref #1152) was added to the table, preliminary information reported by Gallatin City and the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services indicates that a food containing imported morel mushrooms consumed at a single restaurant in Montana may be the exposure of concern. This restaurant is temporarily closed. The product linked to illnesses has been updated to morel mushrooms (suspect), the case count has increased from 13 to 30 cases, and sample collection and analysis have been initiated. FDA is assisting in this investigation, but it appears to be a localized issue, and no illnesses have been identified outside of this restaurant cluster. This is an ongoing investigation, and more information will be provided as it becomes available. An outbreak of Salmonella infantis  (ref # 1141) linked to General Mills Gold Medal Unbleached and Bleached All Purpose Flour.
