Listeria outbreak linked to smoked fish in the UK

According to the Food Standards Agency the UKHSA, Food Standards Agency, and Food Standards Scotland investigate an outbreak of Listeria monocytogenes linked to smoked fish. Whole genome sequencing analysis has identified an outbreak of 12 linked cases of listeriosis since 2020, with six of these since January 2022. Cases have been identified in England and Scotland. The majority of these individuals reported eating smoked fish. The outbreak of norovirus and illnesses linked to raw oysters from British Columbia continues

The CFIA issued several food recalls throughout February, March, and April due to oysters from British Columbia. The latest recall was for Intercity Packers Ltd. brand Oyster N/Shell Royal Miyagi Ow. As of April 8, 2022, there have been 328 cases of norovirus and gastrointestinal illness linked to the consumption of British Columbia oysters reported in the following provinces: British Columbia (293), Alberta (3), Saskatchewan (1), Manitoba (15) and Ontario (16). No deaths have been reported. Inari Organic Blue Poppy Seeds recalled due to Salmonella in Canada

The CFIA reported that Puresource Natural Products recalled Inari brand Organic Blue Poppy Seeds from the marketplace due to possible Salmonella contamination. This recall was triggered by the company. There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of this product. The recalled product has been sold in Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Quebec, and Saskatchewan and may have been distributed in other provinces and territories. Kinder brand chocolate products continue to be recalled due to Salmonella

The CFIA announced that Ferrero Canada Ltd. recalled more than a dozen additional Kinder brand chocolate products from the marketplace due to possible Salmonella contamination. The recalled products have been sold nationally. As a result of the contamination in the Arlon Belgium factory, more chocolates are being recalled in more than 60 countries.
