The FDA reported that CF Dallas, LLC voluntarily recalls select fresh-cut products made from whole cantaloupe subject to a previously announced product recall initiated by Sofia Produce, LLC dba Trufresh due to potential Salmonella contamination. All CF Dallas fresh-cut fruit products associated with the recalled whole cantaloupe have expired. However, consumers who have purchased these items and may have frozen them for later use are urged not to consume the products and to dispose of them immediately or return them to their local store for a full refund. As of November 22, no illnesses related to CF Dallas fresh-cut products have been reported. The fresh-cut fruit products containing recalled cantaloupe were distributed to select retail stores in Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Illinois, Texas, and Louisiana. The products are packaged in Clear Square or round plastic containers, marked with a lot code and “best by” date on the label. The CFIA reported that Yen Bros. Food Service (2011) Ltd. (Vancouver, British Columbia) recalled Yen Bros. Fruit Salads from the Canadian marketplace due to suspected Salmonella contamination. The following Fruit Salad products are subject to this recall: Yen Bros. Fruit Salads, sold in 7.5-pound bulk containers with production dates ranging from 10/23/23 to 11/17/23. Yen Bros. Fruit Salads are sold in 25-pound bulk containers; all production dates range from 10/23/23 to 11/17/23. CORE update of November 22, 2023: the CORE list of outbreaks and adverse events includes seven activity cases and two new outbreaks. The outbreak of Listeria monocytogenes (ref #989) has been linked to peaches, plums, and nectarines. The FDA’s investigation is ongoing. Two new outbreaks were added to the table. A new outbreak of Salmonella Sundsvall (ref #1203) linked to cantaloupe has been added to the table. Another new outbreak of Salmonella Newport in a not yet identified food had been added to the table. The CFIA reported that it had issued a recall for O’Ya hoho brand enoki mushrooms due to possible Listeria contamination. The product was sold in 200-gram packages and was sold in Ontario and Quebec. The agency test results triggered the recall.
