Jen’s Breakfast Burritos recalled RTE breakfast burrito due to Listeria Contamination

The USDA/ FSIS announced that Jen’s Breakfast Burritos ( Auburn, Washington) recalled approximately 144 pounds of ready-to-eat (RTE) breakfast burrito products that may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. The RTE breakfast burrito items were produced on February 29, 2024. The following burritos are subject to the recall 7-oz. individual wax paper packages containing “Smoked Bacon Breakfast Burrito.” 7-oz. individual wax paper packages containing “Ham Breakfast Burrito.” And 7-oz. individual wax paper packages containing “Seasoned Pork Breakfast Burrito.” These items were shipped to “to-go” kiosk locations in Washington. The problem was discovered after FSIS performed routine product testing, and the results indicated the product may have been contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. Castle Cotija and Shredded Cheese were recalled due to Listeria monocytogenes

Food Poisoning reported that Castle Cotija and Shredded Cheese Blend were recalled for possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination. There is no report about illnesses. The recalling firm is Castle Importing of Fontana, California. The recalled items were sold in California, Ohio, Connecticut, Florida, Texas, Washington, and Illinois. The recalled items include Crumbled Cotija Net Wt. 5.6 lbs (300/0.3oz), Net Wt. 7.5 lbs (300/0.4 oz) Fontana, CA 92336 Plant #06-00333; Classic Castle Brand Crumbled Cotija Net Wt. 20 lbs, Net Wt. 5 lbs Fontana, CA 92336 Plant #06-00333; and Classic Castle Brand Grated Cotija Net Wt. 20 lbs, Net Wt. 5 lbs Fontana, CA 92336 Plant #06-00333. Also recalled is Classic Castle Shredded Three Cheese Blend Net Wt. 20 Lbs, Net Wt. 5 lbs. Fontana, CA 92336 Plant #06-00333. The numbers for this cheese are CA SHR 3 CHS BLND 4/5lbs 00754-2-24IN4/5 70095 Customer Lot # 23290 23312 23325 23354 23354 23355 24003 24033. Raja Foods recalled “Swad Brand Cinnamon Powder due to lead contamination

The FDA reported that Raja Foods LLC (Skokie, Il) recalled its 3.5 ounce package of “SWAD CINNAMON POWDER” because it could be contaminated with lead. The products included in this recall are SWAD BRAND CINNAMON POWDER in clear plastic 3.5 OZ bags from the following two batches and Best Before Dates: Batch KX21223 Best Before July 2026 and Batch KX08123 Best Before March 2026. The product was distributed through retail grocery stores in the Midwest, Northeast, and Southeast regions of the United States. No illnesses have been reported to date. FDA Advises not to serve, sell, or eat Blue Mussels from Newfoundland, Canada Due to contamination

The FDA is advising restaurants and food retailers not to serve or sell and to dispose of mussels and consumers not to eat mussels from Allen’s Fisheries (Benoit’s Cove, Newfoundland, Canada) harvested on 2/07/2024 and  2/18/2024 and shipped to distributors in CT, FL, MD, MA, NJ, NY, and PA on or around 2/21/2024 because they may be contaminated. The live mussels were distributed to restaurants and retailers in CT, FL, MD, MA, NJ, NY, and PA and may have been distributed to other states. On 3/1/2024, the New Jersey Department of Health advised the FDA of an outbreak of illness associated with consumption of the mussels.
