Yoso unsweetened coconut plant-based yogurt recalled in Canada due to mold

The CFIA reported that Flamaglo Foods Limited recalled Yoso Unsweetened Coconut Plant-Based Yogurt, 440 g cup due to mold. FDA not to serve or sell oysters from British Columbia, Canada contaminated with Campylobacter jejuni

On 12/18/2023, the Utah Shellfish Authority notified the FDA of two cases of Campylobacter connected to the consumption of oysters from British Columbia, Canada.  The FDA has notified the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) of the illnesses, and the CFIA is investigating.  The two cases consumed oysters in Utah and Wisconsin, and the FDA is coordinating with the CFIA and state authorities to determine if any additional distribution occurred. As a result, the FDA is advising restaurants and food retailers not to serve or sell and to dispose of oysters and consumers not to eat oysters from Pacific Oyster Fanny Bay, harvested on 11/08/2023 from harvest area BC 14- 8 with Landfile # 1402294 and Oyster Malaspina Live, harvested on 11/09/2023 from harvest area BC 14-8 with Landfile # 278761 and shipped to distributors in Utah and Wisconsin because they may be contaminated with Campylobacter jejuni.@ https://www.fda.gov/food/alerts-advisories-safety-information/fda-advises-restaurants-and-retailers-not-serve-or-sell-and-consumers-not-eat-certain-oysters?utm_medium=email&utm_source=govdelivery

The FDA reported that Wine Country Gift Baskets / Houdini Inc. (Fullerton, CA) is recalling all gift baskets produced with Quaker Chewy Granola bars due to a recall by the Quaker Oats company because it has the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella. Gift baskets were distributed throughout the US via online sales and through Amazon.com. CORE update of December 20, 2023

CORE update of December 20, 2023: the CORE list of outbreaks and adverse events includes five activity cases. With the outbreak of Salmonella Sundsvall and Oranienburg (ref #1203) linked to cantaloupe, the recall was expanded to include additional retailers and wholesalers who received the recalled melons. In the outbreak of Listeria monocytogenes (ref #989) linked to peaches, plums, and nectarines, the advisory was updated to include the full list of retailers who received the recalled product. For the investigation of elevated lead levels in Cinnamon Applesauce Pouches (ref # 1198), the advisory was updated to include additional adverse event reports and Investigation updates. In the outbreak of Salmonella Thompson (ref #1190) in onions, the investigation is complete, and the outbreak has ended.
