Fresh Express recalled two salad kits with condiment packs containing recalled cheese due to Listeria monocytogenes

The FDA reported that as a consequence of the recall initiated by Rizo-Lopez Foods, Inc., Fresh Express is voluntarily recalling two salad kits with condiment packs that contain the recalled cheese, which may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. The recalled salad kits were available in limited quantities at retail grocery stores in AL, CA, FL, GA, ID, UT, and WA. The kits being recalled are Fresh Express Salsa! Ready Pac Foods recalls four salad kits due to Listeria Monocytogenes

The FDA reported that Ready Pac Foods, Inc.(Irwindale, CA) had initiated a voluntary recall of a limited number of cases of four salad kits as a result of the expanded recall by Rizo-López Foods of cheese products that have the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. Upon being notified of the expanded recall on February 7, 2024, Ready Pac investigated and determined that some kits may be impacted. 15,751 cases were manufactured between December 2023 and February 2024 by Ready Pac Foods and distributed to the retailers. Ready Pac has ceased all sales and distribution of the impacted products, and any products in inventory will be removed and destroyed per FDA guidelines. No other Ready Pac Foods products sold under the Ready Pac Bistro brand are affected. FSIS Issues Public Health Alert for RTE poultry containing recalled dairy products due to Listeria Monocytogenes

The USDA / FSIS issued a public health alert for ready-to-eat (RTE) poultry burrito products containing FDA regulated dairy products that have been recalled by Rizo-Lopez Foods due to possible contamination with Listeria monocytogenes. The RTE poultry burrito items were produced between June 20, 2023, and December 30, 2023. They were wrapped in 10.53-oz. individual wax paper containing “Amazon kitchen, CHICKEN CHILI VERDE burrito with rice, black beans & monterey jack” with BEST BEFORE Julian dates starting with 0764, 1384, 1394, and 2694. The product is packaged in boxed cases labeled as “CHICKEN CHILE VERDE BURRITO WITH RICE, BLACK BEANS & MONTEREY JACK” with production dates 6/20/23, 8/21/23, 8/22/23, and 12/30/23, and with expiration dates of 3/16/24, 5/17/24, 5/18/24, and 9/25/24. The problem was discovered when the firm notified FSIS that they used FDA-regulated cotija cheese that may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes to produce burrito products. Rojo’s Black Bean 6 Layer dip recalled in Canada due to Listeria monocytogenes

The CFIA reported that Simply Fresh Foods LLC recalled black bean 6-layer dip because of potential contamination with Listeria monocytogenes. The dip was sold in New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Ontario, and Quebec under the Rojo’s brand, according to a recall notice posted by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency. The product was made using cheese recalled by Rizo-López Foods, Inc. in association with an outbreak in the US.
