Oysters from Republic of Korea Potentially Contaminated with Norovirus

Khee Trading, Inc. (Compton, CA) has recalled frozen half-shell oysters with Lot Code B250130, harvested from Designated Area No. 1 in the Republic of Korea (ROK) on Jan. 30, 2025 and processed by JBR KR-15-SP in Tongyeong-si, ROK because they may be contaminated with Norovirus. The FDA is advising consumers not to eat. Restaurants and food retailers are not to serve or sell and dispose of these frozen, raw, half-shell oysters that were shipped to distributors in AZ, CA, CO, GA, ID, KS, NV, TX, UT, and WA and may have been distributed to other states as well. On May 15, 2025, the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) notified the FDA of an outbreak of norovirus illnesses associated with the consumption of certain oysters from the Republic of Korea (ROK). The recall affects restaurants and food retailers in Arizona (AZ), California (CA), Colorado (CO), Georgia (GA), Idaho (ID), Kansas (KS), Nevada (NV), Texas (TX), Utah (UT), and Washington (WA) that have purchased frozen, raw, half-shell oysters with Lot Code: B250130, harvested from Designated Area No. 1 in the Republic of Korea (ROK). Consumers in AZ, CA, CO, GA, ID, KS, NV, TX, UT, and WA who have purchased frozen, raw, half-shell oysters from ROK. In Canada, Hellman’s brand Classic Burger Sauce was recalled due to bloating and spoilage

In Canada, the CFIA reported that Unilever Canada (Toronto, Ontario) recalled Hellman’s branded Classic Burger Sauce products from the Canadian marketplace due to reported blotting and spoilage. The recalled product was sold in 325 ml “inverted” squeeze bottles. The Hellman’s sauce was sold at various retailers, including Walmart, Metro, Amazon, and Sobeys across Canada. Update on the outbreak investigation of Salmonella in cucumbers (May 2025)

The FDA CDC, and with state and local partners, are investigating illnesses in a multistate outbreak of Salmonella Montevideo infections linked to cucumbers grown by Bedner Growers, Inc., in Boynton Beach, Florida, and distributed by Fresh Start Produce Sales, Inc., of Delray, Florida. As a result of the recall, additional recalls are being conducted by companies that used or repackaged recalled cucumbers grown by Bedner Growers, Inc., including Harris Teeter (fresh cucumbers and vegetable trays), Kroger (Yummi Sushi-branded products), Penn Rose Farm LLC (5-pound mesh bags of whole cucumbers), and Ukrop’s Homestyle Foods LLC (Marinated Cucumber salads). Ripple effect, Ukrop’s Homestyle Foods Announces Recall of cucumber products due to Salmonella

The FDA reported that Ukrop’s Homestyle Foods, LLC (Richmond, VA) announced that it is recalling three of its products in reaction to the Bedner Growers’ recall of cucumbers due to its potential to be contaminated with Salmonella. The products are (i) Marinated Cucumber Salad (16 oz), (ii) Marinated Cucumber Salad (36 oz), and (iii) Marinated Cucumber Salad Bulk (5 lb.).
