Wiers Farm, Inc., R.S. Hanline Co Inc., and ALDI recall jalapenos, green peppers and green beans due to Listeria monocytogenes

The FDA reported that ALDI Inc. (Batavia, IL), in cooperation with Wiers Farm, Inc. R.S. Hanline Co Inc. and out of an abundance of caution, recalls Freshire Farms jalapenos, green peppers, and green beans. The affected product from Wiers Farm, Inc. and R.S. Hanline Co. Inc. is recalled due to a potential Listeria monocytogenes contamination. ALB-USA Enterprises recalls ALB Flavor Ground Cinnamon due to contamination with elevated levels of lead

The FDA reported that ALB-USA Enterprises, Inc.(Bronx, NY) recalled ALB Flavor brand Cinnamon Powder because it was potentially contaminated with elevated lead levels. ALB Flavor brand Ground Cinnamon was distributed to retailers in New York, Connecticut, Michigan, and Massachusetts between 12/15/2022 and 05/13/2024. The product hasn’t been sold online. The product is packaged in a plastic bag with a net weight of 100 grams. It features a brown carton packaging with an image of cinnamon powder and two cinnamon sticks centered at the bottom. No illnesses have been reported to date. The recall resulted from an analysis conducted by the Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station (CAES) that revealed the product contained elevated lead levels. Boar’s Head Provisions Co. recalls Ready-To-Eat liverwurst and other deli meat products due to Listeria Contamination

The USDA and FSIS announced on July 26, 2024, that Boar’s Head Provisions Co., Inc. (Jarratt, VA) is recalling ~ 207,528 pounds of product. The company is recalling all liverwurst products produced by the establishment that are currently available in commerce because they may be adulterated with Listeria monocytogenes. The company is also recalling additional deli meat products produced on the same line and the same day as the liverwurst and, therefore, may be adulterated with L. monocytogenes. The ready-to-eat liverwurst products were produced between June 11, 2024, and July 17, 2024, and have a 44-day shelf life. The products subject to recall were distributed to retail deli locations nationwide. The problem was discovered when FSIS was notified that a sample collected by the Maryland Department of Health tested positive for L. monocytogenes. FSIS is working with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and state public health partners to investigate the multistate outbreak of L. monocytogenes infections linked to meats sliced at delis. FDA advises not to consume oysters from Recompense Cove, Freeport, Maine contaminated with Campylobacter

The FDA is advising restaurants and food retailers not to serve or sell and to dispose of oysters and consumers not to eat recalled Recompense Cove, Freeport, ME oysters harvested between 6/19/2024 and 7/16/2024 from harvest sites CAS RC2 and CAS RCX and shipped to distributors in CA, CT, DE, FL, MA, MD, ME, MI, NH, NJ, NV, NY, PA, VT, and Ontario, Canada because they may be contaminated with Campylobacter.
