In Germany the Health authorities reported that a STEC outbreak has 31 confirm cases with 12 HUS

In Germany, the Health authorities reported that as of September 3, 2025, the EHEC outbreak had 31 confirmed cases, 12 of which were complicated by hemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS). Cases of illness are only considered to be definitively related to an outbreak once an outbreak strain has been identified. The National Reference Center in Wernigerode (Saxony-Anhalt) and the consulting laboratory in Münster (North Rhine-Westphalia) are working diligently to identify such an outbreak strain. More than 20 samples from EHEC and HUS patients, sent by LAGuS (State Office for Health and Social Affairs),  and initial results suggest a possible outbreak. The food source that triggered the outbreak has not been identified.  @ https://www.lagus.mv-regierung.de/Services/Aktuelles/?id=213905&processor=processor.sa.pressemitteilung
