The CFIA and the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) reported that they are investigating an outbreak of Salmonella in various products. The products were recalled from the Canadian marketplace due to possible Salmonella contamination. The products were recalled in Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, and Saskatchewan. The PHAC reported that 86 people have gotten sick, and nine were hospitalized after eating deli meat.
