In Canada the CFIA, while investigating a foodborne illnesses outbreak, triggered a recall of Al Mokhtar Food Centre Pistachio from the marketplace due to Salmonella. This product was sold at the retail level in the province of Ontario. The recalled product (Al Mokhtar Food Centre Pistachio) is packaged in 450 gram containers. The pistachios were sold at the Al Mokhtar Food Centre (383 McArthur Avenue in Ottawa, Ontario).
