In Belgium, AFSCA reported the recall of Hennehof free-range eggs due to Salmonella

The AFSCA (Federal Agency for the Safety of the Food Chain in Belgium) (also known as FASFC and FAVV) recalled Hennehof brand free-range and barn eggs in June 2025 due to contamination with Salmonella. The recall follows the discovery of Salmonella in one of the company's chicken coops. The public prosecutor's office has also opened a judicial investigation due to alleged violations of supervision conditions. AFSCA received information that the eggs are still being marketed. The Antwerp public prosecutor's office (parquet d'Anvers) was then notified, and a judicial investigation has been opened. There were concerns about the possible falsification of stamps on the eggs and the firm selling eggs through vending machines. The Belgian national public health institute, Sciensano, linked 67 illnesses in 2025 to eating eggs, and the same strain of Salmonella found in patients was discovered at the farm. A previous recall of free-range eggs with a specific code from Depo-Ei CV also occurred in March 2025 due to concerns about Salmonella. @ https://favv-afsca.be/fr/produits/rappel-de-produit-de-lafsca
