In Austria, AGES announced the recall by Max Catering Gmbh of various Hummus. During a routine inspection, Salmonella spp. was detected in the raw material tahini/sesame paste used in the products. No contamination has been confirmed in the products manufactured with it to date; however, since it cannot be completely ruled out, there is a potential health risk from Salmonella spp. exists in the ready-to-eat products. As a precautionary measure, the entire inventory of potentially affected products sold up to and including April 14, 2025, is being recalled - consumption of these products is therefore not recommended.
