Core update June 11, 2025

The CORE update list of outbreaks and adverse events includes seven postings. The outbreak of Salmonella Enteritidis (ref #1300), an outbreak advisory was issued on June 6, 2025. Consumers, retailers, restaurants, and distributors should not eat, sell, or serve recalled brown cage free and brown certified organic eggs distributed by August Egg Company of Hilmar, CA. A total of 79 people infected with the outbreak strain of Salmonella have been reported from seven states. There have been 21 hospitalizations, with no reported deaths. The outbreak of Salmonella Enteritidis (ref #1301) linked to a not yet identified product; the case count has increased from 31 to 33 cases.
