Core update as of August 27, 2025

The CORE update list of outbreaks and adverse events includes nine postings. A new outbreak of Salmonella Enteritidis (ref #1329) has been added to the table. The outbreak of Cyclospora cayetanensis (ref #1325) linked to an unidentified product has resulted in a case count adjustment from 43 to 46. The outbreak of Cyclospora cayetanensis (ref #1313) linked to an unidentified product has prompted the FDA to initiate an inspection. The outbreak of Salmonella Anatum (ref #1312) linked to sprouted beans has prompted the FDA to update the outbreak data to include additional product information. There were 11 illnesses and 4 hospitalizations in 10 states (CT, FL, IL, MA, MN, NJ, PA, TN, VA, and WA) as of August 22, 2025. For the outbreak of Salmonella Oranienburg (ref #1311) linked to pistachio cream, the FDA updated the outbreak advisory on August 21, 2025. The investigation is now closed. For the outbreak of Salmonella Enteritidis (ref #1301), the FDA is resuming the outbreak investigation based on the addition of recent cases with new exposure information.
