Black Sheep Egg Company recalled eggs due to Salmonella contamination

On September 29, 2025, the FDA reported that due to the potential for Salmonella contamination, Black Sheep Egg Company has recalled its 12- and 18-count cartons of branded Range Free Large Grade A Brown Eggs with a best-by date of August 22, 2025, through October 31, 2025. The FDA initiated an inspection at Black Sheep Egg Company’s egg processing facility and collected environmental samples. Of the samples collected, 40 environmental samples were positive for Salmonella, representing seven different strains of the Bacterium. Some of these strains are known to cause illness in humans. The FDA does not have information available at this time to suggest that this firm is the source of an ongoing outbreak. Black Sheep Egg Company has initiated a recall and contacted its direct customers to remove potentially contaminated product from the market. However, in an effort to alert consumers who may still have products in their homes, the FDA is issuing an alert to recommend that consumers, retailers, and distributors not eat, sell, or serve the recalled Black Sheep Egg Company products. @ https://www.fda.gov/food/alerts-advisories-safety-information/fda-advises-consumers-retailers-and-distributors-not-eat-sell-or-serve-recalled-black-sheep-egg?utm_medium=email&utm_source=govdelivery
